Introductions
While HCCS only began business in 2006, our entire management team, most of our auditors, and many of our coders have been working together for over twenty years. This has allowed us to develop a working relationship more akin to genuine friendship than a relationship between coworkers. We trust each other not only to get the job done, but to always stay true to our common values and strive toward our ultimate goal.
Meet Our Management Team
William Cronin
Chief Executive Officer
Bill graduated with a BS in Engineering from DIT in Dublin, Ireland and spent 16 years in the electronic control industry specializing in environmental control systems for large commercial, industrial, and healthcare facilities in Los Angeles, Houston and Chicago. He also has two and half decades in the Health Information Management side of healthcare, mostly in the field of remote coding and auditing.
Bill has founded, owned and been CEO of two successful remote coding businesses, namely MedGrup and HCCS. He established MedGrup in 1993 and oversaw its journey from a humble remote coding company to what many considered the premier coding company of its time. Bill Cronin was a pioneer at the time as remote coding businesses were unheard of, whereas now this practice is essentially industry norm.
Bill sold MedGrup in June 2002 and left the company just over a year later. In early 2006 he founded HCCS and was immediately joined by his former CFO and CIO from MedGrup. As HCCS grew, Bill was quickly joined by most of the remaining MedGrup senior management team, senior auditors, and many of the seasoned coders. HCCS from the onset was on a path of success stemming from the experienced team who had successfully worked together previously. Since April 2006 HCCS has expanded to more than 150 coders, auditors, and HIM professionals, and continues to grow.
