HCCS has full-time and part-time openings for experienced and certified Remote Coders. Weekly schedules and hours are flexible, but consistency is required of both full and part-time coders. This is not contract work like what most of our competitors offer. Our clients hire us as an indefinite solution rather than temporary help that we provide using short-term coders. When we hire coders and auditors, our goal is for them to still be with us when they retire. Our client facilities range from CAHs with less than 25 beds to Trauma 1 Academics in some of the largest health systems in the country. While we try to keep shuffling to an absolute minimum, we hire coders for types of hospitals rather than a specific client - this means a coder's job with us is not dependent on that client.

Desired Skills and Experience

Healthcare Coding and Consulting Services, LLC (HCCS) currently has full-time openings for experienced and certified remote Profee / Pro Clinic Coders. HCCS is looking for someone who is eager to grow and learn new specialties. A professional who is independent, flexible, and excels in a fast-paced environment. Your role will include auditing coders and providers to ensure accuracy expectations are met and identify any risk to clients.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years coding Inpatient, Same Day Surgery, Observation, and/or E/M Clinic Charts. 
• Current coding certification from AHIMA and/or AAPC – (CPC, CCS-P, CPMA, RHIT, RHIA)
• Availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, during normal business hours in CST or EST.

The perfect candidate will have 3 plus years of current medical coding experience in the specific chart type along with a current coding credential from AHIMA or AAPC. Key Responsibilities:

• Audit Inpatient / OBS and Surgery Pro Fee charts.
• Specialize in at least three of the following areas: Primary Care, Rural Health Clinics, Cardiology, Obstetrics, Behavioral Health, IVR, General Surgery, Spinal Surgeries, or Podiatry.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in auditing Pro Fee and Pro Clinic Charts
• Extensive knowledge of coding and auditing principles, including experience with teaching facilities, understanding of incident-to guidelines, and split/shared billing.
• Proficiency in CMS and LCD guidelines.
• Required certification from AHIMA or AAPC (CPC, CCS-P, CPMA, RHIT, RHIA).

We are seeking a full-time Credentialing Coordinator/Specialist to manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for 132 providers across 12 facilities. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, payer requirements, and organizational policies. The Credentialing Coordinator/Specialist will maintain organized workflows, verify provider credentials, and collaborate with key stakeholders to uphold high-quality care standards across all facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage credentialing and re-credentialing for 132 providers across 12 facilities, ensuring timely submissions and updates.
• Verify and process provider credentials, including licensure, certifications, education, and work history.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in credentialing databases and software.
• Coordinate with providers, payers, and facility administrators to resolve discrepancies or delays.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and organizational regulations.
• Prepare and submit applications for payer enrollment, hospital privileges, and re-credentialing as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational and regulatory goals.
• Monitor expiring credentials and notify providers of renewal deadlines.
• Generate reports to track credentialing progress and meet organizational objectives.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of credentialing experience in a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of NCQA, JCAHO, and CMS standards.
• Familiarity with payer enrollment processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and credentialing software (e.g., CAQH, MD-Staff).
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM).
